MSFCU Welcomes Ellwood City Area School District
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Ellwood City Area School District to our field of membership. Now employees (and their family members) of the Big Beaver Falls Area School District, Riverside Beaver County School District, and ECASD are eligible to become credit union members and take advantage of our great products and services we offer. We look forward to our expansion with ECASD and providing personal financial service to the three school districts. We encourage members to invite family members and other employees of the school districts who are not members to join our credit union. Becoming a member of MSFCU is a simple process. To open an account, an individual needs to deposit $5.00, and have a driver's license or legal identification. A membership form will be completed with personal information. Members have an opportunity to choose the services in which they are interested. Employees also have the option to enroll in automatic payroll deductions to be deposited in their accounts.
Core Processor Conversion Completed
Our credit union was closed April 1- 3 to update our core processor to better service you. We greatly appreciate the membership cooperation during the closure. While we spent many hours being trained for the new system, we ask for your patience if we sometimes take more time than usual to answer questions or address your needs.
You will notice some new looks to receipts, emails, and your credit union statement, but our services and products will not change. You will also see new fresh looks with the updates to our new digital banking platform, mobile banking app, and remote deposits.
Merger between Riverside Beaver County FCU & Beaver Falls PA Teachers' FCU
We are almost at the end of 2020, a year no one will ever forget. It has certainly been a challenging time, but we need to remember our successes during all of it. On January 01, 2020, the merger of the Riverside Beaver County FCU and the Beaver Falls PA Teachers’ FCU was official. The credit union accounts were merged successfully, and all accounts were in balance.
We were looking forward to planning an annual meeting where members from both credit unions could meet as one credit union and get acquainted. And then COVID-19 changed plans for everybody everywhere. Instead of meeting in person, a Zoom Annual Meeting was held to satisfy the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) annual meeting requirement.
Our goal was to announce a new name for the merged credit union early in the year. Due to COVID-19 and some other delays on the paperwork, our new name was not approved by NCUA until summer. However, the Federal Reserve Bank has not yet acknowledged our new name. Until we receive official notice from the Federal Reserve, we will remain known as Beaver Falls PA Teachers Federal Credit Union. Once the Federal Reserve Bank completes the final legal work, we will be the Multi-Schools Federal Credit Union (MSFCU).
While we have not been able to order new supplies with our new name, we have managed to serve all members during all phases of the pandemic. And for this, we give thanks.

Monthly Board of Directors Meeting
Monthly, the Credit Union holds a Board of Directors meeting. Any member may attend the meeting. The board of directors is responsible for the general direction and control of a federal credit union. The board may delegate operational functions to management, but not the responsibility for the credit union's direction. A director must carry out his or her duties in good faith, in a manner reasonably believed to be in the best interests of the membership, and with such care, including reasonable inquiry, as an ordinarily prudent person in a like position would use under similar circumstances. A director must administer the affairs of the credit union fairly and impartially and without discrimination in favor of or against any particular member. A director must have at least a working familiarity with basic finance and accounting practices, including the ability to read and understand the credit union's balance sheet and income statement and the ability to ask, as appropriate, substantive questions of management and auditors. A director must direct the operations of the federal credit union in conformity with the Federal Credit Union Act, NCUA's Rules and Regulations, other applicable laws, and sound business practices. A director may rely on information prepared or presented by employees or consultants the director reasonably believes to be reliable and competent and who merit confidence in the particular functions performed.
